This bokken is inspired by the forms found in the Kashima Shin Ryu tradition, known for the intensity and demanding nature of its practice. It is also suited to practitioners from other disciplines who wish to deepen their training by focusing on body structure, alignment, and commitment in the cut.

This type of bokken does not forgive approximations: it highlights the need for full-body engagement, proper alignment, and appropriate relaxation in order to maintain both fluidity and efficiency.

Like all the weapons offered on this site, this bokken is made from carefully selected European wood, offering a good balance between strength, flexibility, durability, and lightness.

Each piece is entirely finished by hand in our workshop in the Périgord region of France, using traditional tools, in order to achieve a precise balance, a refined finish, and a genuine connection with the material.

Engravings on bokken and jo are made by hand using traditional wood burning (pyrography). We can transcribe your first and last name into Japanese katakana.

You may also choose to have kanji (Japanese characters) engraved.

The inscriptions are made vertically:

– On bokken, the engraving follows the direction from the tip toward the handle and is usually placed on the blade just above the guard.

– On jo, the engraving is placed at the center of the staff.
