Martial use

Associated with the practice of Keishi-ryū, this bokken reflects a synthesis of several classical Japanese sword traditions.

Beyond practitioners working on Keishi Ryu kata, it can also be used by any martial artist seeking to develop endurance, commitment and stronger engagement in their sword training.

Like all the weapons offered on this site, this bokken is made from carefully selected ash wood, offering a good balance between lightness, strength, flexibility, and durability.

Each piece is handcrafted in our workshop in the Périgord region of France. The shaping is carried out using traditional hand planes, ensuring smooth handling, balanced proportions and a natural connection with the material.

This bokken is designed for practitioners seeking a challenging and formative weapon, ideal for developing endurance, power, and proper form during practice.

Would you like these weapons to be engraved?

Engravings on bokken and jo are made by hand using traditional wood burning (pyrography). We can transcribe your first and last name into Japanese katakana.

You may also choose to have kanji (Japanese characters) engraved.

The inscriptions are made vertically:

– On bokken, the engraving follows the direction from the tip toward the handle and is usually placed on the blade just above the guard.

– On jo, the engraving is placed at the center of the staff.

Once you have made your choice in the dropdown menu, please enter the text to be engraved in the “Engraving text” field.
